"Someone from my past resurfaced at an inconvenient time."
"This would happen as soon as I make a friend."
"What happens if his presence never leaves New York?" she asked, standing up from the couch but not quite committing to getting up yet, one hand resting on the back edge of the couch.
He? Who? He who? She glanced at Evelyn, finally looking at her for the first time since either of them had sat down. "What are you talking about?"
out to take pictures and actually meets someone she might have a chance at befriending and this is what happens...
"If he wanted to kill me, he had plenty of chances. We were literally standing beside the edge of the bridge. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to push me off the bridge, or shank me in the side. We don't *always* have to be paranoid." Her irritation grew with each word. The one time she goes

chest.
Evelyn's shoulders, even without her Empathy reading her mentor's emotions.
"He was fine. He was nice, even." She stalked to the fireplace and set her camera bag on the mantle, and then dropped heavily into the worn blue couch facing the fireplace, her arms immediately folding tightly over her
Hannah stepped through the portal and stopped on the spot, already feeling her good mood slipping away like water she tried to stop from draining through her fingers.
"Have you ever tried not to talk to anyone in New York?" she retorted under her breath. She could sense the disappointment in
"See you around, Peter." Hannah smiled, then waved once at him and made her way down south, back toward where they'd first met. She rounded a corner and then disappeared from sight.
"Thanks for spending a few hours with me. It was nice." Her smile was genuine, crinkling the sides of her eyes just a little.
Setting her camera carefully back in the carrier case, she tucked that aside and then took his phone and hesitated, trying to decide which burner number to use. She picked one and then put it in, then sent herself a "hi" from his phone so she'd have his number and offered his phone back.
π I assume she meant tasty... Unless she loses her sense of taste often? Who knows with aliens.
Just curious, did you ever meet an alien called Nezurac? He was very tall. Almost 20 feet.
Thanks for talking to me for so long. I owe you a nice lunch! I'm Hannah, in case I forgot to introduce myself.

And your name, it was Valerie?
We... Is this how you make friends?
|| I don't think I'd get along with the majority of my muses tbh
[Hannah slid the gold bracelet off of her wrist, and after a slight hesitation, offered it back.]
Here. It's yours.
I meant it as one!
... you're quite an interesting person. I don't know if I've met someone like you before.
The scars don't care if the violence was a symptom.
The audible click of the shutter was drowned out by a passing bus, so she straightened and indicated the camera with her index finger. "Done! I got some great shots. Should we do this again sometime? Maybe... Exchange numbers?"
People will look for excuses to be violent if they think they can get away with it, or if they won't suffer any consequences.
I'm not prone to physical violence and that doesn't make me harmless.
I said the same thing before I knew better.
If they're going to hurt you, wouldn't you defend yourself?
"A little to the left. And smile, like someone just got you a present." Hannah crouched a little, lining up the shot with a quirk to her lips.
