I want to know why racism & misogyny are always just ‘growing pains’ for certain ppl-even when they’re whole ass adults-the rest of us are expected to let slide b/c of loneliness/alienation. It’s never “You were likely lonely & alienated b/c you were racist & misogynist. Are you still those things?”

After revelations that companies like Ring have been selling home security footage to ICE, the most common defense of keeping a camera up seems to be, “But what if I’m stalked?”
And as a violence researcher, I’m just here to state for the record that police do not care about your security footage.
About the only key difference between SNAP and credit/debit/cash is that SNAP limits what you can buy. So the only type of thing someone who was used to SNAP might not be aware of is that now they're allowed to buy anything they want in the store and not just what's approved.
SNAP cards work exactly like money. It's just a SNAP card instead of a credit or debit. I love when they tell stories that reveal they don't even know enough about how things work to make up good lies about them.
