Hey Tyler, cool to see you on here! Been thinking this place is due for a tpot renaissance…not just bluesky but the atproto ecosystem more broadly has lots of good energy & things becoming possible that I don't think really are anywhere else. Glad to point to some things to check out if you like!

Semble great for a collection. Leaflet for like annotated bibliography / more text + media (subpages can be useful). Want to get some integration happening so we can have best of both :)

I’m seeing several threads in which academic (-adjacent) folks are lamenting the collapse of publishing and imagining alternative forms of publication – collectives of essayists, etc. Look to the blog collectives of the early aughts (Crooked Timber!), the contemporary worker-owned collectives!

Would love to support ways to publish more collaborative in @leaflet.pub but even now things like open collections in @semble.so make it easy to prototype in this direction!

I def get that haha, playing with Hyperlink recently and still miss parts of it, both the more learning focused vibes and cozy collab workspace stuff. I think all of us would love to work more aspects of that vision back into what we can do w/ Leaflet + the broader atmosphere ecosystem here!

i'm just an onlooker but it seems like @leaflet.pub is such a good example of a technology that waited around for the right wave and then rode it: leaflet existed as just a document editor on the web for a long time before the atproto wave came around, and then it all locked into place

Yeah! Cool to see the leaflet lore on here haha, been a long process from hyperlink to leaflet & this time last year early in exploring the atproto direction…realizing that show HN was exactly a year ago, we should maybe do another for Leaflet-the-social-publishing-app!

Oh cool! Just read, great post. Sorry to hear browsing is harder these days. Certainly not the same but making me think how we need better ways to browse digitally w/o losing the texture, spatial context, thingness of books…serendipitous spatial interface e.g. for browsing thriftbooks could be cool.
