I think there's value in keeping them distinct. Manifesting more money and achieving apotheosis are very different goals using different techniques, but they absolutely don't have to be mutually exclusive. In fact, I've come to learn that thaumaturgy can help support theurgy, and vice versa!
I like to use the terms "theurgy" and "thaumaturgy" instead. To me, words like "high" and "low" imply a hierarchy: It implies one is above/below the other, or that one is always celestial while the other is always earthly. Theurgy & thaumaturgy seem to more accurately describe the magick itself.
Mercury Retrograde thoughts? Do you change your practices, practice more cleansing and protection, do you go more carefully over contracts, do you avoid travel?

I shared this as a reply in another thread about Mercury rx but wanted to share it again as a standalone statement!
In general, I like to consider retrogrades as a reminder that progress and forward motion aren't always the same thing. Sometimes, we need to double-back and retrace our steps to really learn and evolve.
I also like to give extra attention and support to Hermes/Mercury through prayer and devotional work. When I have the funds, planetary remediation through donating to Mercury-aligned charities/mutual aid/causes seems to have a positive impact, as well.
Then, I use the info from my transit chart to plan supportive rituals and spellwork. In general, though, I like to use retrogrades as a reminder that progress and forward motion aren't always the same thing. Sometimes, we need to double-back and retrace our steps to really learn and evolve.
The first thing I do *before* the retrograde is check where the transiting Mercury rx will be traveling through my natal chart. This tells me which parts of my life will be impacted the most. (Sometimes, the retrograde can even have a positive/neutral influence! It's not always bad/challenging.)
There are so many reasons to keep living. 💜

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
