Obsequious in their refusal to forthrightly call out the inanity of the proposed tariffs or say anything that might jeopardize the “special relationship”. Absurdly, Australia runs a trade deficit with the US - if Trump’s logic held, Australian goods should get negative tariffs. /14
For the past month, we’ve watched Australian politicians dance around the question of upcoming tariffs. It’s been embarrassing to see them squirm - uncomfortably and unconvincingly explaining how Australia would react.
