It's a 'very complete' disaster and the chaos and harm is 'just the beginning'.
You *could* say both

I'm sorry everyone, a couple weeks ago, I said to myself: "there's no way things can get any more fucked up than this"
And well, the universe loves a joke
What are the chances... I bought new studio gear yesterday, and then today I got the first message on AirGigs in like a year.
Lesson learned: buy more gear
The incoming barrage of fake AI war videos is going to be intense
Carney's "Great idea Mr T!" tweet getting ratioed hard, bsky gets it
This is wrong. We should not support it. Don't get us involved in it.
The dog got out this morning, fun to chase him around the block in my slippers.. fell on my face in the snow.
How did your day start?
I truly don't know what to think about this sort of video: the whole time they're talking about the real harms happening, and fears for the future about AI, and then at the end she says she's bought in hook, line, and sinker and uses it constantly. How do you reconcile that?

We have to stop giving people that always operate in bad faith the benefit of the doubt.
A cardboard box for a computer case. Says "Lop XL Silent Computer case"
Moving my computer for a new case. It's going to be a dusty evening.
Edie the dog wondering why we didn't bring more liver treats.
Back in the studio for some final touches (and pets)
I think there was a big shift in content when we decided that we should make what 'the algorithm' liked instead of what *people* liked
It still feels novel to buy weed with my credit card π€·ββοΈ
Is it still Montreal if there aren't construction cones littered around the city at all times?
Edie loves recording sessions
Back at the House of Miracles doing some recording (and petting the dog, obvs)

To celebrate groundhog day, here's a song we put out a few years ago featuring our (now passed) band dogs called The Long Winter Blues. My John Prine-iest song to date.

My knee in the bottom right corner, plus a whole pile of instruments and sound gear, plus y'know the audience and stuff, I guess
Today's venue is the Dundas Folklore Centre (slash museum)! This should be a lovely time!
A nice sunrise at the end of the street, streetlights still on, Toby the black lab in the bottom right corner.
Nice sunrise this morning
The bar of Shortfinger Brewing, absolutely packed to the gills because they released a new beer, certainly not because we're playing
Tonight's venue is Shortfinger Brewing in Kitchener! Playing with my other band, brand new folk punk sensation Delaware River Runoff Crabs
They probably shouldn't pile the snow and ice up into a ramp that leads over the side of the overpass. Pretty awful to then blame the victim for it
The stage at the boathouse with our instruments in stands in various places on it.
Tonight's venue is the Boathouse in Kitchener. We're playing from 7-10, come on out if you're in the area. It's nice and warm (inside)

I love the initial part of booking tours - figuring out the path, finding the venues you're going to pitch, reaching out to all of them...
Then there's the waiting. For replies, for confirmations, finding places to sleep, actually making profit...
Working on booking a tour for the band this summer. Came up with a few different drivable paths plus one crazy moonshot idea to fly out, do a 1 week northwest Ontario and Manitoba tour and fly home after a 2nd festival the next weekend, and we're actually going for that plan. Incredible! I'm pumped!
One (whose brain is not already pickled) would argue that, in fact, USING AI leaves vulnerable people without knowledge.
The proof is in the (brain) pudding
ooh the opportunity has come up again to book a little tour for the summer.. Will it happen this year? πͺππ
The fireplace at Chaucer's in London, with Dave the sound guy getting us set up
Tonight's venue is Chaucer's in London! The Cuckoo's Nest Folk Club brought us out, looms like it's going to be a great night!
