As a teen in northern Ontario in the early 1990s, the excitement of the drive down to Toronto began somewhere around Orillia when you could pick up the CFNY signal on the car stereo and plug into a whole wider world of music that had not yet reached you in the sticks. Keen to see this!
From a small yellow house in Brampton, CFNY 102.1 helped define alt radio and introduced North American audiences to bands that would later become widely known.
