It would also be tragically ironic if this project was done before the advent of LLMs (from his perspective, not medical advice, donβt feed medical data to AI services), if he was frustrated from a lack of insight by all the data he collectedβ¦ which would have new, fun issues.

I swear I read about this project several years ago. Most of the insights he gleamed from the data were pretty obvious in retrospect (health affects mood). It seemed like in the end he didnβt have a strong motivation for himself for why he did it?
I think the term for this is βembodied selfβ.

...so maybe check back in a week or two? Will probably post the code to tangled once I feel good about it. I'm kind of upset that it worked as well as it did b/c I started playing with Objective C as a joke.

this is llm-assisted so I'm hesitant to release it until I've re-written it by hand
but developer.apple.com/documentatio... makes breaking up the protocol implementation conceptually very nice

A screenshot of a dark-themed macOS application interface, a client for secure scuttlebutt. The left sidebar displays a list of long, cryptographic IDs ending in ".ed25519" grouped under headings like "127.0.0.1" and "SSB-ROOM.J-SERV.DE". Next to each ID is a colored status dot (green, red, yellow, or cyan). One ID is highlighted in purple. The main panel on the right displays the selected ID in large text, noting it is "ONLINE / DISCOVERED VIA ssb-room.j-serv.de" with a latency of 42 ms and using the "MuxRPC / JSON" protocol. At the bottom right, a log panel shows a "MuxRPC Decoded Body" containing an array of several similar IDs.

(I was just messing around with macOS networking apis and objective c, also yes that sidebar is misaligned)

are there other people you'd recommend I follow? Asking partially because developers on here seem to have a taste for ASCII and related art for their projects and I would love to see someone get some $$$ and recognition for their work

yeah I have a similar feeling towards similar art subfields like pixel art - you can use tools to assist you encode stuff like 3D transformations, perspective, shading/dithering, depth, etc but it's hard to capture the subtle artistic touches and overall art direction that make pieces great

Emelia has already done so much great standards and auth work behind the scenes, which benefits not just atproto/atmosphere, but also ActivityPub, Solid, and other social web ecosystems.
really excited about the potential for FedCM to make login flows slick and competitive with Google/Apple/Meta

*bad for pedestrians as the local economy caters to people who donβt go out and explore their local environment and meet up with people at cafes and such
Though I have no idea if this is a concern in practice, itβs hard to predict second order effects.

One last thought, a concern one could have is cannibalization of the local economy for short term gain vs. long term growth. If this distribution hubs pop up in unused spaces then great, but if restaurants decide itβs better to just downsize to smaller delivery only kitchens, bad for pedestrians

Maybe what I was thinking is like can a national delivery workers co-op be sustainable that has some organization at the local level but connected to a bigger structure? I donβt know much about the economic effects of co-ops. I.e can it be something other than a VC backed tech company?

idk who to ask, @bobbby.online, @bmann.ca ? but does anyone have good research on gig-economy stuff because it feels very wasteful at scale vs. something like local driver owned co-ops. I remember a paper out of MIT a while ago that said most services were really inefficient (ignoring ethics).
