He can also make it grow by will, and the "skin" doesn't particularly have any nerve endings or blood vessels which means he won't feel pain no matter how damaged it gets.

When it's retracted it usually looks like a very short hair and when it's extended it develops into a hoodie-like structure and the cape keeps growing until it reaches his hips. Although he can make it longer than that.

Here's some cryptid boi Phobos stuff! His hoodie and cape are actually made out of the grey cloth-like "skin" that grows at the back of his head that flows all the way to his nape.
