That’s not what I said, just that we’ll never know if any manager can handle Spurs if they’re never given time. It’s not really about him, it’s about no one getting a proper chance.
I know Frank hasn’t shown us any reason for thinking he can get more from this squad, but I think the more rational decision is to give him time. Otherwise the new manager will find himself in the same position in the same amount of time. #COYS
On Thomas Frank and Spurs destructive cycle of sacking managers, it’s clear that managing Spurs is an enormous challenge. And how will we ever know if anyone can handle the job if they aren’t given the time. Maybe every manager will struggle this way.
Let’s just all enjoy the fact that a player chose Spurs over someone higher in the table. It’s so rare that this happens. And there’s so much trauma (football trauma, so not real) over losing players to other teams.
This feels SO MUCH like a Levy deal. As in, going after a player we failed to get in years ago, and going after them when they no longer are as good or wanted by other teams. Villa wanting him is something, I guess?
