THE DREAM TIME -- EPISODE BREAKDOWN 1. The TARDIS is hijacked, and propelled to a point in time and space which has an ambivalent existence, an ancient but disused interchange. Meeting with the crew of the warp ship --a bedraggled and disreputable bunch, and we have a slight hint that they're not the innocents that they present themselves to be. Following the trail and exploring the accessible portions of the 'castle', whilst the assistant weighs up the warp ship on the strength of earlier suspicions and devises a means of entry. Episode ends on the ghostly apparition of the time—sensitive, apparently about to menace the Doctor. 2. it passes straight through him, and wanders on -- surmises on the nature of the interchange. Assistant's discovery of the nature of the slave ship, and witnessing of the near—disastrous revival; capture of assistant. Reflection of danger onto the Doctor as the crew plot to use him instead of a time—sensitive. Escape of time—sensitive and assistant. Culmination of plot to coerce Doctor -- he runs, hand through mirrorlike door. He falls after. 3. Emerging on the other side with hand healed, now unreachable. Time—sensitive looms behind him; discovery of the maze—like nature of the house. Completion of the assistant & 2nd time—sensitives' escape. Crew begin to regroup resources. Confusion and danger in the maze. The captain's intention to blast open the gateway. 4. All learn of the scheme; independent action of the original navigator, the forestalling of the Doctor's plan. The countdown, the realisation; the navigator prodding each of his fellows out of phase; the explosion and the fierce battering of the time winds; the escape of the Doctor and the second sensitive. The triumphant march to freedom. The coda -- still lost. The resolution.
