In HisGIS.nl werken we, samen met lokale vrijwilligers, aan een digitale infrastructuur om het kadaster van 1832 integraal voor heel Nederland te ontsluiten – voor onderzoekers èn het publiek. De sneak previews hierboven komen van de nieuwe website waaraan we nu hard werken a/h @knawhuc.bsky.social

Dat dit landschap nu mogelijk gaat verdwijnen en de bewoners elders een nieuw thuis moeten opbouwen is in Nederland helaas niet uniek (hieronder Pernis). Om te weten hoe Nederland er in het verre verleden uitzag zijn onderzoekers vaak aangewezen op de oudste kadaster kaarten van 1832.

Als een van de weinige gebieden rondom Dordrecht zijn hier landschapsstructuren van direct na (of vóór?) de St. Elisabethsvloed van 1421 bewaard gebleven. In 1560 was het een eiland in de na 1421 ontstane Biesbosch (NA, Coll. Hingham, nr. 1895a):

Deze week kwam het pijnlijke nieuws dat de gemeente Moerdijk het oude dorp Moerdijk wil gaan opheffen. Een bittere pil voor de bewoners. Moerdijk, hieronder in de situatie van 1832, kent een bijzondere geschiedenis.

De digitale infrastructuur HisGIS heeft als doel het digitaliseren van perceelregisters.
 
Tijdens de studiemiddag vertellen medewerkers van het Humanities Cluster over de voortgang en bespreken landbouwhistorici hun gebruik van HisGIS bij hun onderzoek.

I've never really used LinkedIn, as it was always a very privacy-averse place, but they'll now also be hoovering up your personal data to train GenAI models (as per their new T&Cs). The fact that this is opt-out rather than opt-in speaks volumes.
