Seems a little early to be making Halloween plans.
Seems a little early to be making Halloween plans.
Thanks for passing this on, George! And best to you and your family!
Thanks, Tasmin! Always great to chat with you!
You had questions for @tasminarcher.bsky.social and she answered them on the latest YMAAA! Tasmin talks about her new album A Cauldron of Random Notes, her nearly 30 years as an independent artist and much, much more. Have a listen!
If you want my thoughts on this all-time classic album, I was on an early episode of @almelchior.bsky.social's podcast to talk about it back in 2021: open.spotify.com/episode/5ybt...
The new YMAAA with @minutebook.bsky.social is out! Mark introduces me to the music of David Ackles, and his 1968 self-titled debut album in particular. We also chat about Mark's new book, Down River: In Search of David Ackles. Check it out here β¬οΈ
Got any questions for @tasminarcher.bsky.social about her fantastic just-released-today album, A Cauldron of Random Notes, or anything else? I'm doing a Q&A episode with Tasmin soon. If you want Tasmin to answer your question, drop it in the replies here, and she'll respond on the YMAAA episode!

I wrote about how a Corin Tucker lyric is helping me to keep my eye on the ball with my You, Me and An Album interviews.
Ha! Thanks, George.
Dietrich Enns is in the Tigers' rotation after pitching in Japan and Korea for the last three years. John Means could make his debut for the Guardians in August. The Tigers and Guardians have a series Sept. 23-25. In other words, the seemingly impossible dream of a Means-Enns matchup is still alive.
I would, too, but you can't spell Melachrino without Melchior.
I learned so much from that book. The "Dylan went electric" thing makes so much more sense to me now, because it was really "Dylan went loud."
If you love Pink Floyd or just great stories about famous bands, then you'll need to listen to the latest YMAAA with former label promotions exec Paul Rappaport! Paul introduces me to Pink Floyd's The Division Bell and we also talk about his fantastic new book, Gliders Over Hollywood.
I didn't care for it much when it came out, so I've never really gone back to it. I should, though. I'm guessing it would hit me very differently now.
It probably was. At that time, I was living in DC and parked on WHFS. All indie, all the time. I moved to Atlanta in the summer of '94, so it probably wasn't until then that I heard "What Do You Want From Me."
Paul was so great to interview. He has some amazing stories!
I really dropped out on Pink Floyd after The Final Cut, and I actually had barely even listened to that. I do recall hearing "What Do You Want From Me" once or twice on the radio, but that was it!
How is google AI any different from Kramer pretending to be moviephone?
βWhy donβt you just tell me the name of the movie you want to see?β
I had a fascinatingβand educationalβconversation with drummer extraordinaire Arthur Thompson about Cameo's 1980 album Cameosis, and you can hear it on the latest YMAAA! We also talked about Arthur's upcoming albums (three albums, to be exact), his nonprofit work and much more.
I always learn a lot from my guests on YMAAA, but Barrie Cadogan was the ultimate guitar professor on the latest episode. Barrie and I talked about the Jimi Hendrix Experience's Electric Ladyland, as well as the new Little Barrie & Malcolm Catto album, Electric War. Be sure to catch this one!
If these are ever available on your website, I'll be clicking so fast.
Check it out...it's a new YMAAA with Andrew Dost! The fun. multi-instrumentalist (you can take that either way) introduces me to The Rentals' 1995 debut album Return of the Rentals. We also talk about Andrew's Metal Bubble Trio project and their debut album Cucumber. So fill up the tank and enjoy!
Kindie rock superstar Laurie Berkner chatted with me about @aimeemann.bsky.social's 1995 album I'm with Stupid on the latest YMAAA! Laurie talked about what she loves about the album and how it's influenced her own music, which is aimed at a much younger audience. Have a listen!
Or whatever tweets are called on Bluesky.
This tweet actually made me look up Ryan Dull to see if he was back in the majors.
Same for me and my wife! Connections knows how to get us to make bad decisions.
Appreciate you as well. Thanks, Wes!
New YMAAA! This week, @wesmartinjackson.bsky.social introduces me to De La Soul's Buhloone Mindstate, and he talks about why this has been a favorite album of his for 30+ years. Wes also talks about his work as President of BRIC Arts Media, including this summer's Celebrate Brooklyn, and much more!
I had a great time chatting with Laura Kidd @penfriendrocks.bsky.social about Belly for the latest YMAAA! If you want to hear some of the highlights from our conversation, check out these excerpts that Laura has posted on her YouTube channel.
Tomorrow, Laura Kidd will release her 2nd album as Penfriend, House of Stories. Right now, you can listen to Laura and I chat about her great new album, plus one of her favoritesβStar by Belly. We also discuss her other connections to @tanyadonelly.bsky.social and more! @penfriendrocks.bsky.social
