I don't give a shit if you have to prop up my half-operational corpse with 2x4s and surgical rebar, I am going to be around to watch him lose everything

Elon Musk Says He's Epically Screwed Up at xAI, Is Rebuilding "From the Foundations" Musk is admitting that his AI company xAI is in deep trouble — and in need of a deep overhaul, a surprising admission.

I am dedicated to living long enough to watch his entire empire collapse

"What does it matter, they're still just big reptiles"

Yeah so that's actually not correct either, if you're looking for the descendants of dinosaurs you look for birds, not lizards.

The quotes on this oblige me to observe that this is not a dinosaur vomiting, but a synapsid vomiting

Synapsids are no more lizards than we are! Offensive, I am offended, all offense taken

16.02.2026 05:36 👍 9 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0

There is not one category that covers all big animals in the past and most of them did not, in fact, just go away instead of evolving into different things.

"Where did all the big lizards go?" Most of them stopped being lizards and grew hair or feathers or stuff.

Forgot to mention odontocetes, especially orcas. Orcas are basically balls to walls bonkers predatory synapsids, yet most of what I say about them isn’t gushing over them, it’s having to debunk morons who embellish/put them on a pedestal over other aquatic predators.

Most of the animals found so far are broadly reminiscent of things we know well from the North American and European records: dvinosaurian temnospondyls, captorhinid reptiles, parareptiles, and so on. We only just reported the first synapsids from the formation last week:

It doesn’t look like total surrender is going to happen. More like $5 gas and bigly inflation on everything else, too.

I've been online since 1995

I'm coming to the belief that 31 straight years of systematically watching the stupidest people do the stupidest things I've ever fucking seen in my life, only to be eclipsed buy something even stupider the next day...

Is really bad for my mental health.

Look so this isn't really OP's the point, but one of the weirdest things about the prequels *even at the time* was the disconnect between their /relatively/ astute politics & big-picture work on the one hand and their clunky writing & scene-work on the other
