A week ago I was invited by Radio Blackout to discuss GamerGate and its long-lasting legacy. In more than ten years, the situation has only worsened. What were once the positions of a βloud minorityβ have now become the political platform of global powers and bourgeois media.
If your game has a nice key art, please give me a version without the title, so I can use it as the cover image for my review and everyone is happy.
In my latest videogame review column for @artribune.bsky.social: @thegamebakers.com' Cairn, @girlypop.net, @on-together.bsky.social, the Quake Brutalist Jam III (with a focus on @radiatoryang.bsky.social's One Need Not Be a House) and @inkle.co' TR-49.
My latest appearance on Radiotelevisione svizzera's Rete Due is now online. I spoke about Unemployment Simulator 2018 by Samuel Lehikoinen and turbolento.
Today on Italian communist newspaper @ilmanifesto: @icepicklodge.bsky.social & HypeTrain Digital's Pathologic 3, an attempt to reflect on the management of an epidemic. And in my Margini videoludici column I write about @alienmelon.bsky.social's latest work.
We only have the one-word form and we use videoludico as its adjective. I think most countries have some kind of calque from the English "videogame". We also have a couple of weird translations for so-called videogame genres, such as "sparatutto" for shoot 'em up and first and third person shooters.
In late February we celebrate 40 years of The Legend of Zelda and 30 years of PokΓ©mon. For L'Indiscreto, I wrote about these videogames as attempts to recover a lost rural Japan that perhaps never truly existed. (article in ITA)
When the new animated series of Evangelion was announced, my first reaction was βwho caresβ (anyone who personally knows me knows how uncharacteristic that is of me). Then I read that itβs directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and that it's written by Yoko Taro, soβ¦ yeah, actually I do. I do care.
Black-and-white four-panel comic strip Peantus. In the first panel, Charlie Brown stands on a sidewalk wearing a safety patrol sash and holding a stop sign, shouting, βOkay, letβs move along there!β In the second panel, he continues yelling, βJust pay attention to your safety patrol! Move along, now! Move along!β In the third panel, Lucy walks past him carrying books and says, βFuzz!β mocking him, while he looks deflated. In the final panel, Charlie Brown stands alone holding the stop sign and quietly mutters, βOkayβ¦ letβs move alongβ¦ letβs move alongβ¦β

A new Italian video game inspired by the Divine Comedy has been announced and I had the chance to preview the demo for @artribune.bsky.social (it's now available for everyone, on Steam).
@kinmoku.bsky.social hi! You have a DM!
Hi! I have a new, quirky article out on how games use and represent the dead, but also on deadpool games, & the strange case of the #Fantamorto (an Italian fantasy sport).

...that's right I can use Steam forums!
This three-game compilation has just been released on Steam and it looks interesting, but I can't find the studio online and its website is a nightmare with no contact details. Can someone help me?

Hi! You have email! π
finally, I've received a PR pitching a videogame as "certain game 1 meets certain game 2" and game 2 is a game 1 clone.
@halfrobot.com Hi professor Clark, I'm Matteo and I'm an art and game critic from Italy. Is there any way I can contact you?
In my first for Rivista Studio, I wrote about the video game industry crisis and the new three-day strike at Ubisoft Milan.

Epic made provably incorrect statements about the gameβs content, refused to provide details supporting their claims, and has not shared their claimed AO IARC certificate, which normally includes a link for the developer to appeal. They do not βlove that studioβ, they have effectively ghosted us
