There are some creators out there - musicians, directors, artists, authors - where I don't really like what it is they're making, but I'm still really glad they're making it. Something doesn't have to be for me to be important. Kojima's in that camp of, "Shine on, you crazy diamond."

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunity—you are appreciated more than words can express!!!
