Daniel Horne's cover painting for Dragon Magazine #156 (April 1990) "when a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of cute beholders" always seemed more like a Valentine cover than an April Fool's one. #dungeonsanddragons #dndart #rpg #valentinesday

Pool of Radiance was published by Strategic Simulations, Inc (SSI) in 1988. It was the first adaptation of TSR's Advanced D&D fantasy role-playing game for home computers and won the Origins Award for "Best Fantasy or SciFi Computer Game of 1988". #dungeonsanddragons #retrogaming #poolofradiance

Dragon Magazine #126 Cover Art

Dragon Magazine #126 Cover Art

Dragon Magazine was first published in 1976 and had 430 monthly issues until it was cancelled in 2013. The cover art showcased some of the best fantasy artwork in the industry. Our favourite was from October 1987 with this icon painting by Daniel Horne. #dungeonsanddragons #80snostalgia #dnd

In the early 1980s, TSR Hobbies published full-page ads for Dungeons & Dragons in comic books featuring the adventures of Saren the cleric, Indel the rogue, Valerius the warrior and Grimslade the mage. This example was illustrated by Bill Willingham who went on to work for Marvel and DC. #dnd #comics
