Always a pleasure to be in community with my #literacies fam! These are moments worth staying a bit late for!
[Book Spoiler Alert] We have some ideas about this in our potential list of inquiries for #LaVBeyond #literacies
[Book Spoiler Alert] We actually tap into that engagement with gaming in Chapter 7, through Taty's account of being a #gamermom #literacies
Equally important here is how second-language English users in gaming spaces are not just "speaking" the language, but reclaiming it for themselves. #literacies
I think one of the key elements here is the possibilities for language reinvention that happen in these "zero gravity" spaces! Gamers as second-language users mold the language in increasingly creative ways, for example. #literacies
This is a great question! I'll have to run it by my team soon! #literacies
Sure thing! [Book Spoiler: we say a little more in Chapter 1] - The very definition of victory moved from "winning" to "staying engaged over time". We carried that one through the rest of our research and right now, with our new teams, we're remixing that definition.
Right! In my case, it meant meeting my team halfway through. I wasn't imposing the methods, I was listening to my gamers and together we pieced it together! #literacies
In our case, the very definition of victory has evolved, based on what every gamer that has entered our project brings to the table. So, just bring it to the Round Table and let your Knights decide with you! #literacies
Hey, anything for my #literacies fam and my brothers and sisters in arms at #TeamLaV - Anything for my team and my Legion!
And about my gaming experience:
it all started sometime around 1983 with an Atari 2600, playing Asteroids, Space Invaders... and E.T. - These days, mostly playing MK11 and doing wild reserach with #TeamLaV #literacies
Evening #literacies fam! Trondheim calling! Dr. Berry reporting live from Norway, at the stroke of midnight, ready for this shindig!
How about some music to kick off this #literacies chat... and what bette song than this: youtu.be/EAwWPadFsOA...
Don't forget the live #literacies broadcast by yours truly at midnight CET! Staying up for the #literacies fam representing #TeamLaV!
Sending you love across the miles, fam. If you need me, you know where I'll be. Big hugs from the cold fjords to the cold Midwest.
OMG! This is awesome!!! Thanks @lexikwoodward.bsky.social
Let's try and catch up soon!
Gotta say, you look amazing, fam!!!!
I'm happy to share that our gaming book is finally out. Working with a team of novice researchers to put this together has been a highlight of my career.

About that, one of my professors in grad school told me one that "the week cannot last seven days" - I've turned that into a mantra as a professor so I can always have time off to regroup #literacies
A2: Well, there's my #WorldwideAcademicFam, good friends all over who remind me I'm not alone (even if in a different time zone); there's also my gremlins and my partner; and of course the awesome folks who are part of my Legion! #literacies
A1 - Thinking of this break, I intend to continue going to the gym, enjoy some family time, lots of walks while there's daylight in Trondheim, and finish a Japa Mala I've been thinking about threading. #literacies
So, this just happened today... and the countdown to the actual book release begins today!

Just saw this post on Facebook... and I thought that this is an interesting case study for the translanguaging, #literacies and multilingualism crew...
What should the grade really be, 2/5 or 5/5?
Let me hear your thoughts, #WorldwideAcademicFam!
Indeed... on and btw, we've been mentioning your work a lot in my lab recently. Some of my student are exploring playful literacies in their work and our projects!
