A reliance on one-time funds to prop up shelter, public safety costs has Portland in deeper budget trouble than anticipated.
Yeah, we really need people who aren't in Minnesota who have some extra funds to remember us & step up. If you donated to a rent relief fund last month or earlier in this one, odds are the same folks need more money now (or will very soon). Many of our neighbors are still in hiding & can't work.

valentine's day isn't just for couples, it's also a day to celebrate love. for instance, i would love it if housing prices came down.
this is why i am laser-focused on paying rent for people right now.
the second a family is evicted, the costs of everything explode. lives are disrupted, new schools have to be found, people are in physical danger, and then they are so much harder to rehouse with an eviction on their record.

The sheer number of friends I have who are looking for work right now is giving me dot com crash flashbacks.
I recently got one of these cute AF keychain whistles and they are tiny and also SO LOUD and even though Bree is making them for free I paid for it so the money could go to compensating her for the literally hundreds of thousands of free whistles she’s sending out.
We have shipped 325,686 whistles in February (these last 12 days) so far.
This is about 651 kg of filament that we have gone through. It really does help to get gift cards for non-Amazon sources!

I just spent a couple hours in the whistle inbox, inputting 39 requests. They ranged from 100 for a lady who wants to give them out at church to 3,000 for a large union. All over the country, but one common refrain: I want to help.
