I used to love this...now I think it might just make me feel older than time.

Last night I was at a meeting where this pilot project was mentioned. It improves the health and well-being of vulnerable people, saves the NHS money, reduces pressure on hospital beds, and is good for the planet. It started in 2021...why haven't we all heard of it? es.catapult.org.uk/project/warm...

WELCOME TO SILLY GOOSE SALONS, a very serious literary community!
We're launching salons for the same reason we did the mag: we want to exist in a space that we donโt quite see in the lit landscape just yet, so weโre building it! We hope you'll join us๐ชฟ

Thanks for selecting my story for the bin, plus all the other stuff you do to make the author experience extra special!
"Some may say that dyeing my hair brown is not the way to signal to the world an emotional transformationโthat duty belongs to getting bangs. But I would contend that bangs are experiencing a renaissance and no longer signal surviving an emotional car crash."

And it is the most weirdly petty thing to do. I'm intrigued. And baffled. And also a little weeny bit annoyed.
I went out half an hour ago to put some extra rubbish in the bin, only to find it back up by the house. This is the third time this has happened to me in the last month. My bin isn't blocking anything, it's just inside my boundary when I put it 'out' for the bin men. I'm not aware of annoying anyone
I am currently experiencing some kind of weird, petty minor irritation vendetta from an unknown neighbour. For some reason it's the done thing in my road for everyone to put their dustbin out 24 hours before the bin men are due. I put mine out today when I got home at 3pm. Bin men are due tomorrow.
(It has changed a lot from the 70s/80s, but that was my lived experience of being a 'sixer' for the Kelpies...)
Nice to remember Lucille, even if you don't know exactly what for. Is there anything even vaguely like the brownies in the States...where you get inducted into a cult by dancing around a toadstool and peering into a mirror on the ground and earn badges for being inculcated into housewifely skills?
Oh yes, 9 years old and already reaching my peak.
Up there with my proudest achievements. Nothing that a fine cup of tea can't solve.
Apparently, I have to go to work again this week. Don't they know I have stuff to do?
Yes! I feel like I could place a Barbie next to that house and she would reach the roof.

My world is all about instauration at the moment.
Buying my dad a Round The Horne collection on tape, that we'd listen to on a Sunday together, was a real bonding experience. (And I'd still watch Willow-the-Wisp today, probably)
I think the modern tendency to not have 'things', either through fashion, economics or other pressures breaches a mental boundary. If you don't have nick nacks, keepsakes, a box in the cupboard, a couple of drawers of stuff, a pile of papers or pic your memories are always porous and easily replaced
I want to say that 'things' have been replaced by 'stuff'. Hopefully my Christmas decoration analogy explains it: When I was growing up, we had a disparate collection of christmas decs, handmade/ hand-me-down etc. Every one had meaning. Then came colour-themed decs, meaningless, replaceable 'stuff'
