I do nacho reviews on Instagram and mostly yell into the void against authoritarianism. Unfortunately have had less time for nachos recently.

this junkballing Czech electrician is a folk hero in Japan for striking out Ohtani in the last WBC (stopped for photos/autographs etc) but he's retiring after this bc Czech league ball doesn't pay the bills.
I love the way he took in in this one last surreal moment before going back to normalcy

Every time I open a news app or site and this story isn’t being discussed or featured prominently I feel like I’m losing my mind. Do not look away.

A liar stays a liar, a fuckup stays a fuckup, and a bad and dishonest party will stay a bad and dishonest party. A sports fan knows a free rider in the system when they see one, because the New York Jets exist. They recognize bad faith actors because they’ve seen EPL ownership. Watch this: This year the Atlanta Falcons will be different. You’re laughing, because you already know how this ends. It’s not nice, but you’re still laughing.Β

Secretary Kristi Noem

@Sec_Noem
Thank you
@POTUS
 Trump for appointing me as the Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas.
@SecRubio
 and
@SecWar
 are incredible leaders and I look forward to working with them closely to dismantle cartels that have poured drugs into our nation and killed our children and grandchildren.

The Western Hemisphere is absolutely critical for U.S. security. In this new role, I will be able to build on the partnerships and national security expertise, I forged over the last 13 months as Secretary of Homeland Security.

We have made historic accomplishments at the Department of Homeland Security to make America safe again: we delivered the MOST secure border in American history, 3 million illegal aliens have left the U.S., we have located 145,000 children, FEMA delivered disaster relief at a 100% faster rate, we ushered in the golden age of travel, saved the American taxpayer $13 billion and revitalized the U.S. Coast Guard.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Just because you got fired, Minnesotans won’t forget what you did to our neighbors. We will continue to fight for you to be held accountable.

Can't do a 1:1 comparison, but it was also all over when I was in high school even before it was legalized everywhere. The fact that vapes are around more due to legalization absolutely would make it more difficult to police though

Abel-SWR-Matthews certainly has great upside (which as you point out is probably why they aren't signing Giolito) but it also has a pretty low floor even if no one else gets injured, and if they do they're down to Morris. Not saying it's malpractice to not sign a veteran FA but could go south quick

Dear God it's even more word salad than usual. The most charitable reading of his position is "Iran is bad and hopefully this works out" which does not inspire confidence. Especially when a straight reading of this makes him look like a fucking idiot

These are the quips in clips that got so many of us excited that he was picked for VP. My views on Walz and his effectiveness are nuanced and mixed, but I do appreciate his bluntness (when he's not muzzled by Biden campaign staff) and more importantly his steadfast defense of trans rights

The Ober situation is why I really wish Pohlad would spend $10 million on one of the available starters. I don't feel confident penciling Ober into the #2 spot given we haven't seen that performance in 18 months

Have airstrikes by a hostile foreign country ever produced this outcome? The reactionary centrist blob keeps pretending this is part of a duly considered long-term strategy from Trump but that is not how he operates and even if it was, this is a dumb strategy.

The first bill out of the Trump administration was the Laken Riley Act. Only one Minnesota Democrat voted to support it.

Since then, the president has used it to separate families and detain thousands of people without due process. Nothing can undo the damage that has been done.

the DEI initiatives these guys got mad about were broadly aimed at making better hires by preventing quality candidates from being overlooked while their "pro-meritocracy" talk involves scraping the bottom of the barrel searching for anybody semi-qualified with the exact same life story and views

The world wants to ban children from social media, but there will be grave consequences for us all | Taylor Lorenz Age-verification systems require collecting sensitive data to support the biometric information. In no time, the internet will become a fully surveilled digital panopticon, says technology journalist ...

β€œAll lawmakers will claim that they are [enacting age verification] to protect youth from some harm, but they fail to mention the convenient power it hands to government to control and chill speech they oppose, and even punish their critics.”

Angie Craig saying that she regrets the vote that tons of Minnesotans told her not to make at the time and saying it now only after everyone has suffered for two months of a federal occupation that has killed two Minnesotans and destroyed thousands of neighbors lives. Fuck off.

You cannot talk like this about any other minority in America.

And if it was any other president’s adviser who said something like this about any other minority, it’d be the instant end of their presidency.
