Living the life π
Ooh! Hello! Fancy meeting you here π
Ooh! That's very nice!
They are sooooo cool! Who's the lucky winner? And how would I go about ordering one of your fantastic creations as a UK dweller?
Packed with full-on, energetic activities to make sure that everyone kept warm - no standing around shivering on a Zeitgeist WWI UK Trench Experience Day!
Yesterday it was my acrylic ink profile of 'KΓΌken' Hubrich's Albatros D.Va from 1918. Today it's my profile (from the same 'In Different Skies' series) of his Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 that Hubrich was flying 22 years later in 1940.
No cute chick and egg painted on the side of this one!
It was a very late, wild and messy pre-birthday night, last night, but unlike those of my younger days (π₯³πΎπΈπ·πΉπΊππ), the reason was a very poorly Princess Pickle Pooch having a severe IBD attack in a top floor apartment ππ΅βπ«π₯΄
Thankfully she's now sleeping soundly, bless her little heart... π€π€π€
A pleasure! I hope you raise loads of money! π€π€π€
I'm in! Fingers crossed that I win - they are totally awesome!!!
How cool!!
Who is the artist?
Thanks Richard π
A bit of art to start the weekend.
Albatros D.Va of Gerhard 'KΓΌken'(Chick) Hubrich, Marine-Feld-Jagdstaffel IV, 1918.
Hubrich was a German fighter pilot during both the First AND the Second World Wars - I'll post (skeet?) my profile of his Bf 109 E-4 tomorrow.
All of my profiles are acrylic ink.
The best military history magazines are published in France (you can trust me on that one). Follow @3945km.bsky.social for brilliant reviews of all the glossy, nerdy military history published in La France.
Thurleigh! My home turf! I grew up a few miles down the road.
Someone's done their homework with that Stab/JG 54 Bf 109 G-2... that's nice to see. :)
Very much looking forward to the resulting documentary.
The VO artist recording the 'Voice of God', today, was mindblowingly good!
(I wasn't sitting across the room, only pretending to work while I listened, in complete awe of her talent - honest! ππ)

Thanks! I spend such a long time poring over photos before I ever put anything onto paper! I've been known to stop halfway through a drawing, scrap it and start a completely new artwork because I've suddenly noticed that I made an error. With acrylic inks there's nowhere to hide!
I have very much missed the regular snippets from the MacDonogh household π
You must come and visit Pork Pie Central again once we're back in residence, Giles!

A fresh approach to battlefield touring for UK schools π§
That's good to hear!
My sublimation printer gave up the ghost a couple of years ago and I haven't got around to replacing it - major upheavals in life put that particular area of production onto a back burner - so there haven't been any hand signed mugs for quite a while.
One day, though... π€
Yes, you do! I'd forgotten about that!

It's nice to be able to combine both sides of my life π¨ποΈ
It's what we do! Never a day goes by when we're not thinking about how we can improve our service, make tours more educationally valuable, provide better exam relevance.
It's really lovely to know that we're hitting the spot! Way to go, team! πͺ
#WeAreZeitgeist
Today is the day these two finally depart the collection & start their journey back to active service
The guys working on them over the last few days have performed miracles getting the kit out & reverting them both back to APC shells ready for Ukraine πΊπ¦ prep
We will miss them though
That's not good... Especially with the cold weather! I hope you get it sorted soon! π€
You are Superwoman, Mary! I don't know how you do it!
(Could have sworn I'd already sent this reply this morning, but obviously my memory is playing tricks on me again! π€ͺ)
Brrrr, indeed! It's not snowing in this part of the Fatherland at the moment. Forecast for the end of the week, though βοΈπ¨οΈβοΈ
