Sue, despite the goofy name, pickleball is fun. It's probably good exercise too, but I hate exercise. I do, however, like fun. I played 3x a week for the last 2-3 years, though I've slacked off this winter.

I don't often block people, but I love that soft 'poof' sound when I do and the person just disappears.

One of the unspoken tragedies of the post-Obama era is that some of the best dive bars have either gone out of business or become intolerable MAGA outposts. On the other hand, the rise of bike pubs sort of makes up for it. Sort of.

Yesterday I went on a pleasant 18 mile bike ride. It was 70F and almost no wind. Today it's snowing.

Yes, this is the world we live in now, and have since Trump I. Locally, we've had some MAGA diners go broke after alerting the public that trans folk aren't welcome. And we've had some progressive bistros receive bomb threats for saying they ARE welcome.

Why am I even fussing with you? If you don't think drones are a threat, that's fine. We disagree.

If you have 1) drones and 2) access to explosive material, you can easily make 3) drones with explosives. Seriously, look at what Ukraine has done with inexpensive drone warfare, both against individual troops and fortified structures.

It's a wee bit naive to assume large military drones are the only threat. Ukraine has shown us how much damage can be done by small hand-held drones.

Eagle Claw had a LOT of moving parts, but probably still less 'risky' than an assault on Kharg Island.

I don't know of any ebikes with the distinctive elegance of a Faraday. And it's a shame, because I think there's a growing market for well-crafted, practical, Dutch-inspired bikes.

I don't know that they will, and I don't know that they need to. What they have that we don't is determination and zealotry. They don't have to win; they just have to keep fighting at some level until we give up.
