Drilled an 11mm hole in the cubby tray part and ran the USB-C through the dash and out an unused button. 👌
And here it is installed in the Defender. It was a tight fit, but it’s definitely usable.
The original clip for the mount was threaded on to a ball to allow for tilting and rotating. Making a sphere in shapr3d wasn’t super obvious, but I landed on this version.
My initial plan was to make a base that would fill the void and a little fork to grab the existing mount.
The ashtray on my Defender had become loose. I tried tightening the clips up when I last had the dash off, but it still wasn’t a stable base for my clip on phone charger.

Nice! My faithful old 2017 27’s screen died this summer, I eventually got it to work headless by using Opencore Patcher. It would be so rad if someone developed a 120hz panel, then I’d pair it with a little M4 Mini.
