The thing thatโs so frustrating isnโt really that we donโt learn from history itโs that we somehow learn the exact opposite thing from history and then go on television and say it with the confidence of someone who has been wrong about things for several decades without being corrected
it is so disappointing that you no longer require masks. the biggest reason i went to flame con last year was because you required masks. i was looking forward to attending again but will no longer do so. you are abandoning disabled and immunocompromised queer people
In 2022, I counted more than 400 healthcare centers in the U.S. offering Long COVID care. @delfimarchese.bsky.social followed up three years later, and found many of them have closed... or at least failed to respond to our inquiries.

Despair (1894), Edvard Munch: A person is standing looking down, they appear sad. They have brown hair, and are wearing a brown sweater. They are leaning on a fence and appear to be on a bridge walkway. There is a group of people in the distance. In the background is a sunset with orange, yellow, and blue colors that is set over dark blue water, with a green hillside lining the waterway. The text reads, โThe Sick Times. My child and I both have Long COVID. Even in COVID-aware spaces, we are excluded because of their pre-existing disability. By eZme Fern, aka MadMaskedMxma.โ
Medical facilities have handled Long COVID the same way they have the ongoing pandemic: ignore it and hope it goes away. - My child and I both have Long COVID. Even in COVID-aware spaces, we are excluded because of their pre-existing disability.
eZme Fern and their ten-year-old both have #LongCOVID, but theyโve discovered that even in COVID-aware spaces, they're excluded because of their childโs pre-existing disability. They argue that COVID-aware communities must provide safe spaces for generationally disabled families. bit.ly/4sAkobN

Quick question does anyone know how to restore virtue to a decaying society
The US is the single most evil entity on the planet and every last one of our souls is blackened by its actions.
I have only just recently started digging into data centres and water, and the way companies are hiding vital information is beyond belief. It is so, so dodgy.
The entire project to widely popularise the idea these concerns are "fake" makes so much sense in this context

We havenโt seen many narratives about โ or for โ kids whose family members have #LongCOVID. Author and educator Sara Robitaille seeks to change that with her two new childrenโs books, Long COVID Transformed My Mommy and Long COVID Transformed My Sister into a Turtle. bit.ly/4csWXfE

This comic slide from โwhy you should wear a mask 2026โ by Gillian Levine playfully gives reasons of why to wear a mask using a Monopoly board. Each square represents a different reason to mask, from protecting yourself and others to protecting yourself from other airborne virus. Dice and game board pieces are scattered around.

Would really appreciate it if a greater percentage of people liking and replying in agreement to this take (which is correct) were still masking, getting boosted, and otherwise engaging in any level of covid mitigation. The virus is very much still around and still causing harm.
Black and white photo of Marjane Satrapi with the quote: "The world is not divided between East and West. You are American. I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same."
