We had written the EVSN script for this week.
And now I shall rewrite it.
Because the folks at NASA OIG tell it like is and apparently have no shits to give.

I mean, that is how plate techtonics likes to roll... or shake as the case may be.
So many terrible things are happening in the US right now. Things like this remind every creative and scientist paying attention that the current administration might hurt guests to our nation. π₯Ί
I don't expect to see a GDC or Worldcon in the US again in my lifetime, which makes missing LA hard.
Yesterday I spotted our first crocus
If you're scared of protesting or a general strike because you could lose your job, healthcare, and housing, or even go to jail, now you understand why the US has no universal healthcare or housing and no guaranteed parental leave, but DOES have the largest prison and police system on planet Earth.
Heβs luckily up high and pretty self sufficient
Giggling has occurred.
Yeah... I would love to see that fault line go because OMG THE POWER, but I also know people would deal with a lot of bad shit so.... Most days I'm on the side of people. Most days...
This is the content I seek....
...and this is a list of 10 places I will never live (also, the fact that Cascadia isn't here is only an issue of "ever recorded", so now you know 11 places on my "nope" list)
I just can't with <flails at the chaos>. People keep saying the suffering is the purpose, but I don't understand why NASA would be a target. Like, I know they hate smart people... but knowing the words and knowing it aren't the same.
Gonna go live under my rock now.
This shit drifts too. When I was in the N Caucuses at the 6m telescope in 1991 (OG Desert Storm) when it rained we got oil on our cloths. This was from the burning oil wells in Kuwait.
How much of our world will be destroyed this presidency?
The trick is to work with something like Backerkit for shipping (if you got large scale) and print with a photo book printing service. For just a few copies, using something like Snapfish might work.
Hmmmm I wonder if our community could Backerkit this into existence...
Is there a way to order fancy
Paper pre-prints? That used to be a thing but I don't think I've wanted anything in paper since grad school.
It really sucks that good archiving means no natural light. Humans want light and our brains see windows as good architecture. If I know someone went to work there each day, I'd have to ask why the hate themselves.
Yup
May her memory be a blessing.
I now want marshmallows and aurora
True - Sadly, my brain refused to turn off, and my habits of listening to the radio didn't let me turn him off.
Also, our brains are dumb sometimes.
Oooo - That is one of my fav things too.
And when I start thinking "let it burn" I know it is time to touch grass, by which I mean throwing toys outside for the dog.
May you have the equivalent, because there are so many reasons to want to burn it all down at the moment.
Cryptids against Capitalism is my fav.
Turned on @stlpublicradio.bsky.social, as I do this time of day, & discovered a presidential ramble in progress.
The logic, is not present.
You can't destroy an oil producing nation to the point they can "never" rebuild, and also lower oil prices to historic lows.
Pick one. Pick the latter.
Spring!
This will be an instant classic. I'm wondering what paper I can throw together as an excuse to cite it.
Although the Arp Atlas was published in the ApJ Supplement in the 60s, you really had to get the book atlas itself, comprising bound photographic prints. 1/n

So⦠I've been writing for about 18 years on the idea that if you somehow manage to make meaningfully conscious machine minds & then you treat them as tools, then you're enslaving those minds, and that's pretty messed up. And this ties into something else I've re-upped recently: LLMs can't say "No."
Eddie, a very fluffy Australian Shepard, is looking very hopefully, his head crammed between my monitor and my legs, desperately hoping I'll give him my steam-in-bag broccoli
Daily Dog: All he wants in the whole wide world is my broccoli.
