The AFL-CIO has a very special new union! 🏅
When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.
if you’re cis and you don’t get it this is LITERAL TORTURE
it will result in dead trans people
and with their other goal of making us “sexually explicit” for existing
you see the pipeline right?
we exist -> we’re jailed for it -> we’re tortured and die
WE NEED YOU TO STOP THIS
The recipient of the FIFA peace prize is bombing one of the teams due to play in the World Cup in his country in three months. Well done Gianni!
You'll understand our campaign more from this launch video than anything else. We gave it our heart and soul. Give it a watch.
I'm not entirely sure how they did it, but they've completely cleared the streets around my office in Midtown #NYC.
They paid a lot of people good wages to do the job effectively, thank you for coming to my socialism talk
Good morning, we play hockey this week 😌
FLEET FANS HOW WE FEELING? 🥇🥉
One of the things that personally drives me crazy in the U.S. is how youth sports/athletic activities went from a part of the public good (municipal leagues and fields! rec centers! public parks!) to a privatized, expensive, highly competitive, highly structured pursuit for wealthy kids’ résumés
you know, it still seems like it should be an even bigger issue that the president has been sending armed forces to kidnap and assault people in an ethnic cleansing campaign, with a specific geographic focus on regions that didn't vote for him in the last election
I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

To all our international friends attending the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Milan tomorrow:
Please loudly boo JD Vance and his delegation. Make him feel like shit. We encourage it. We wish we could be there to boo him, too.

It's pretty far down the list, but @espn.com covering the Saudi Pro League but not the @thepwhl.com is really fucked up.

We still haven't agreed as a society that prison rape jokes are foul and horrible and should never be made, so I don't know if we'll make it on that one. As soon as "people" become "prisoners" or "the homeless" or "criminals" etc. the concern about what happens to them plummets.
America is one of those countries where if you host a global sporting event, inclusive messages have to be censored to so as not to anger the central government. In this case the message is “racism is bad” www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...

Group photo of Sesame Street workers holding their firsts high with graphics showing the logo of their new union and the winning vote tally, 55-19
Sesame Street is officially UNION! Workers at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, have voted 55-19 to join @opeiulocal153.bsky.social
Huge congrats to @sesameworkersunion.bsky.social! “We can officially say that today, May 15th, is brought to you by the letter U!”
This kid is 15, and so has a moral clarity and uprightness that no adult elected official would or could ever have. There aren't really and never have been two sides of this issue, but if it has to be argued as a binary thing I don't see how anything less than this could seem like the side to be on.
Anything you say can be used against you.
Anything you say cannot be used to help you, it will be immediately struck down as hearsay.
There is literally no way for talking to the cops to help you.

Politico screenshot with one sentence highlighted in blue: The anti-abortion activists stressed on their Zoom call that while they are publicly calling for the restoration of previous federal restrictions on the drugs — including bans on online prescriptions and mail delivery of the pills and cutting off their use after seven weeks of pregnancy instead of the current 10 — they view that as only a “first step.” **If they achieve that, they plan to keep fighting for the drug to be removed from the market entirely.**
Anti-abortion activists admit they're only acting concerned about alleged health risks from abortion pills because restoring outdated restrictions is a first step to banning them entirely. That strategy is obvious to many, but still good to see it out in the open:

Capitalism didn't give us the internet.
Large-scale cooperation, open protocols, and free software gave us the internet. Capitalism gave us mobile sites that don't work because fifteen ads cover the screen.
