I have decided to stand for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.

Dad, Husband, Geek, Rider of bikes, Radio Amateur M0RFU, Labour Councillor for Manor Ward, Stockport, IT Manager not always in that order. Formally @jonbyrne on that other place. Repost not endorsements - opinions are my own.

Screen shot of the Open Core Legacy Patcher root patching installer. It's an image of lines of status update.
I can't underestimate how much I am impressed by Opencore Legacy Patcher. Proper computing.
2015 iMac running Sequoia is a very pleasant experience.

A picture of me, 43 year old man, in front of the destination sign at Stockport train station. It is early and I look tired.
On the way to the @labourwalkscycles.bsky.social conference down in Leicester.

Looking forward to it πΉ
Three local councillors stood in front of a 192 bus in bee network yellow livery in the snow. It's the first Bee Network bus in Stockport.
A man and woman sat on a bus looking happy.

0430 alarm this morning to walk down to ride on the first Bee Network bus out of Stockport. The famous 192, I then used my Hopper Ticket to get the first Stockport bus out of the interchange. πππ

A screenshot of Strava with a bike ride stats and a map around the Stockport area.
Knee rehab is currently requiring longer and harder bike rides so back to the Boardman Cyclocross.
Had a fab chat with another Carradice saddle bag owner along the A555, one of the best things about cycling is meeting and chatting to people you never would if you where in a car.
I hadn't put the two together that you were also Mr NOV π
A picture of 4 A5 Filofaxes one black one chestnut brown, one red and one dark brown. They are all closed and in a fan format.
My A5 collection all in use. I also use an A4 and a mini.
A large black filofax closed, in front of a lit Christmas Tree, a television and a fireplace.
Everyday. I have multiple, I don't use them as a diary that is all online but as a meeting and planning tool I find they cannot be beat.
Like a notebook on steroids.
A picture of a man and woman in black tie outfits.
Birthday party for my wonderful Louise's 40th tonight πΎ
A collection of watches in a watch box. They are all analogue watches 11 in total with one empty space in the box.
One space to fill β I've been building this collection for 15 years or so. None are considered by "real" collectors as high end, but I love them all and a couple were expensive in the real world.
Only three were bought new but all will probably last a lifetime.
There is a recommendation of two hours max in a car seat. You used to see a lot of people just move the carseat to the travel system and back without taking baby out. Not sure if that's still a thing.
A front baby carrier was an absolute game changer for my second too if people are able to use one.
We are not car-free but I am very against removable car seats, nothing scientific, so for my youngest we had a permanently fitted one.
We took the pram in and no questions were asked.
First commute to the city center for a few weeks as I have been suffering with an injured shoulder and knee.
Still not fixed but the electric bike helped me through it, particularly how nice and upright it is.
Was cold though π₯Ά
A selfie of a group of labour party activists in a carpark. The person taking the photo is closed and the group is stood back.
Another brilliant morning on the doorstep yesterday. Really satisfying to hear residents positive response on the good work done by our Labour Councillors here in Stockport.

Genuinely gutted about this. Louise is exactly the transport secretary we need right now.
An ice road and pavement with a vehicle which is stuck due to the ice and steepness. The sky is nice and blue.
Bit of an adventure getting to the townhall after having to take my car to Bredbury Industrial Estate, bus plans went out the window and it was slip and slide all the way.
A wide shot of the ball room at Stockport town hall with attendees sat around tables.
A close up of two presenters and a presentation screen. Screen showing a slide with contact details for the attendees to use.
A carton representation of the results of a street audit by school children. Including things like they can hear cars and planes. Change the floor to grass and Christmas hats on bollards.
It was fantastic to attend the Stockport's Climate Action Now Summit today at the town hall.
I didn't manage to attend all sessions due to work but was really happy to join the Joyful Journeys session.
I look forward to seeing some of the ideas Cole into fruition.
Screen shot of "Accessibility Settings" with two main categories: "Alt text" and "Media." Under Alt text, there are two toggle options labelled "Require alt text before posting," which is switched on. βDisplay larger alt text badges" Under Media, thereβs an option labelled "Disable autoplay for videos and GIFs," which is switched on.
New to @bsky.app? Weβve got some etiquette just for you!
Turn on the little feature that reminds you to post alt text with your images. Alt text allows blind and partially sighted people to understand what's in your images using screen readers. Without alt text, it just says "image".
Looks like green helmet is a child riding shotgun. Even more efficient use of space.
A teas maid with a freshly pours cup of instant coffee. It's dark with just the teas maid light glowing.
Apologies for the lack of alt text yesterday, I hadn't got the setting sorted.
Success for day 1 with the teas maid.
This feels like a life upgrade. Almost excited for the 0630 alarm.
I raised this at scrutiny and it was confirmed that there is going to be a lot of effort on the signage & on carriageway markings to make it as easy as possible.
Yes it was on the plans that came to the area committee & scrutiny.
I think that the eastern route is going to be a challenge for the signage team.
I have concerns about this stretch too, it is particularly steep in any normal persons view.
The ones near Belmont Way are being removed if that's the other ones.
The second hand market must be having an impact too. Prices are rock bottom.
Brands like Brompton pushing more direct to consumers cannot be a good thing either.
I joined in 2008 too and loved it in the early days. Closed my account down today. I always enjoyed seeing a broad spectrum of views, but it lost any sense of self controlled balance in recent years.
