"After the Rain" — an original painting by Roman the Painter. A vibrant impressionistic field of coneflowers (echinacea) in full bloom, rendered in acrylics, oils, and oil pastels on a 16x20 canvas panel. The flowers display white and pink petals with vivid orange and yellow centers, set against a lush green garden and a dramatic pink and purple cloudy sky. Inspired by a walk in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan.

"After the Rain" is my most recent painting. It's a 16x20 canvas panel with acrylics, oils, and oil pastels. The reference photo was taken from one of my walks in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan.

"Waiting for the Daylight" — a vibrant 24 x 36-inch painting in acrylics, oil, and oil pastel on stretched canvas by Roman the Painter. Towering sunflowers dominate the foreground, their heavy heads bowed and turned as if anticipating the sunrise. Bold, expressive brushwork and rich pastel marks build layers of saturated color — deep teals and purples in the shadows, fiery oranges and yellows in the petals, and unexpected pops of coral and red through the leaves. Behind the sunflowers, a dramatic sky transitions from a soft peach and pink horizon to swirling purple clouds and deep turquoise, suggesting the last moments before dawn. Distant mountains and hints of sailboats sit along the horizon line. The mixed-media texture is visible throughout, with the oil pastel adding a raw, gestural energy over the painted layers beneath.

"Waiting for the Daylight" is my most recent painting. It's acrylics, oil, and oil pastel on a 24 x 36-in stretched canvas. It'll be available soon on my website. Or if it's still available, you can pick it up at one of my many shows this summer. First show will be South Main Street Art Festival.

The photo is of a rustic log bench with two root balls pointed upward for the back two legs. Another root ball makes up one of the front legs. The seat is and back are covered in reclaimed Oak boards. There's even a small table attached to the bench. Very unique design. The entire thing is very organic inspired by Nature.
