Looks like some of Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion books are getting re-released in paperback in December. Nice! I've been wanting to check them out.

PlayStation dropped so many cool game trailers recently.
I'm interested in Aphelion, Silver Pines, WILL, 1348 Ex Voto, Outbound, Yerba Buena, Seven Deadly Sins, Rover's Tale, and Toxic Commando. ๐คฉ๐ฎ

I haven't read the OG Infinity trilogy at all ๐ฌ
I keep meaning to.
Good times!
Don't ever pay attention to the Metacritic user score. If there's a great discrepancy from the critic score, it's because of a bunch of incel man-babies complaining about something being "woke". It's not a review. It's a tantrum. ๐คฃ
I haven't been following lately. I like AEW, but I've been checked out of pro wrestling for awhile. Not sure how accurate this is, but my complaint about Hangman is that he just always seems pissed off for no reason. That's fine as a heel, but not as a face, IMO.

A stack of books about heavy metal, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest
Also, when I was digging around, I found a great collection of books from Martin Popoff, plus some extras about Priest and Sabbath
Good readin'!

Yeah, I'm thinking I need to inventory my music collection. Found a box of albums and did a few random price checks on eBay and Discogs.com. Wow!
Not sure about my cassettes and vinyls, but some of these CDs are going for a pretty penny.

I'm up to Saxon's 2013 album -- Sacrifice.
These modern albums are fine. They are heavy. Great production, for sure. I just don't find anything on them that stick outs.

The SAVE Act is a major attack on voting rights. It is not a genuine voter ID reform, but rather an attempt to suppress turnout in future elections.
I'm enjoying Pokemon Legends Z-A, but it seems even more simplistic than Arceus. And I really don't like having just a city to run around in. Arceus felt like a much larger game.
I can go along with a trend! ๐ฅ

Currently listening to Saxon's Metalhead album from 1999.
But I gotta say: I don't mind the commercial turn the band took starting with Crusader in 1984 and going up to 1988's Destiny. There's some good stuff on those albums.

Peter Criss in Blue Oyster Cult? Mutually beneficial, stylistically compatible, personally motivated, and geographically and culturally logical. It doesn't seem so implausible.

The obvious caveat: Criss left KISS and found himself adrift largely due to drug and alcohol issues and personality clashes. That's the real deciding factor. But if he could clean up his act, and we got a motivated hungry Peter Criss... this could've worked.
Peter wasn't looking to be a creative driving force. He never was in KISS. Give him a couple of lead vocals, a songwriting credit or two, a paycheck, and a stage. He's happy. BOC could've accommodated that easily. And his contributions could've added an emotional, sentimental quality to BOC.
By 1981 Criss had something to prove. Out of KISS, his second solo album had flopped. Joining a band with a fresh gold record, name recognition, and a reputation as a strong live act would've appealed enormously to him.
Both KISS and BOC knew each other. Martin Popoff's Agents of Fortune: The Blue Oyster Cult Story book recounts both bands recording at NYC's Record Plant in 1977, KISS for Love Gun and BOC for Spectres, and having genuinely friendly interactions.
Despite downward trends, KISS was still a recognizable name. Adding a former KISS member brings eyes back to a band that was losing them. Real commercial value at a moment when BOC needed it.
With the Pearlman/Meltzer creative stranglehold slipping and BOC chasing soft rock/AOR success, Criss' associations with producer Vini Poncia and songwriter Stan Penridge could've been genuinely useful. Just look at his solo albums. That's a guy comfortable writing and performing in that lane.
His raspy, soulful lead vocals would've added a distinct emotional and vulnerable side that neither Eric Bloom nor Buck Dharma quite possessed. BOC already rotated lead singers naturally. Slot Criss in for two songs an album and nobody bats an eye.
Peter Criss' drumming, rooted in jazz, swing and R&B, would've been stylistically compatible with BOC's early 80s direction. His influences, Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa, actually matched BOC's loose, swinging rhythmic feel better than a straight rock drummer would.
They replaced Bouchard with Rick Downey, their own roadie. No disrespect to Downey, but he was essentially a hired hand with no creative input. Something BOC would prove by cycling through several more hired drummers in the years that followed.
When Albert Bouchard left BOC due to personality clashes, the band's most recent album was the gold-certified "Fire of Unknown Origin," their biggest critical and commercial rebound since Agents of Fortune. They were on an upswing. But they needed a drummer.
Should Peter Criss have joined Blue Oyster Cult in the early/mid 1980s? Yes, and here's why. ๐งต๐

Both are very fun and always have a super cheap sale. Definitely pick up the first when it's on sale!
