So pleased I made the trip to see #ONGrimes: vivid, visceral, the sea in every second. A towering performance from John Findon in the title role, with the Chorus & Orchestra unleashing a terrifying power. Brilliant.

This surreal one-act opera, set in a daytime cookery show, with a depressed egg, singing banana and lots of swearing is definitely not for little kids, but the 12yo absolutely loved it.

The reason for being in Bradford was to see the @operanorth.co.uk production of Simon Boccanegra. Well, it was absolutely magnificent and I believe they are taking it on tour now, so if you get the opportunity I’d urge you to go.
