Yes thank you! It's exactly what I've been trying to solve, yesterday I overcorrected and had to revert it's harder than I thought to get that responsiveness and control. It's either "clunky" or "floaty" and the sweet spot is hard to pin down

Appreciate your feedback regardless! This will also release on itch.io first before other considerations.
Oh yeah it's for sure floaty, sometimes inaccurate. I can change this with deceleration and hit boxes until it feels right. As for testing all I can offer for that is a Patreon demo in a few weeks, or up to a month or two. It would be cool to test on lower end PCs if you're interested, first 2 areas
Iโve been trying to build this for years. Finally getting there.
Palette analysis like DawnBringer or Censor, but in real time.
I want feedback while picking colors, not after the fact. I think this direct feedback loop makes it much easier to make informed decisions when composing a palette.
For sure I'm trying to juice it up a little bit every day now that the basics are there, here are my efforts from today in the form of charge forward and knockback:

I'm getting closer to a solid prototype of the intended gameplay, it will be based on positioning and moving enemies with knockback in order to carefully proc elements and charge up powerful spells. youtu.be/VXLKzmplXh4

It's from Evil Dead 2, highly recommend these films
Originally it was going to be a flat sprite with 8 angles but I just couldn't get things looking consistent, so I went with the player and certain enemies being 3D or having 3D elements. It's an unconventional way to do it but solves some problems.
Gooby mouse
Loving that album
I honestly don't know yet, but it's set in a place called Pergamum so that will be in the title.
I'm gonna tell my kids this was pee wee's playhouse
Yess, thank you so much!
Testing my first humanoid enemy, needs some work!

LOL, your comment was auto-hid for a typo!
But I should mention, they are immortality blood biscuits that alter your genetics. And the rats... they're pretty big nutritious rats.
I know it's a superficial similarity but reminds me of Planetary Annihilation Titans! Upon closer inspection it's bigger factorio. I will try this one.
My game started as horror paper mario, and there are a few incongruent aspects of it that have to stay. I may rework these, but so far they hit the theme!
The cultist was sealed down here too long subsisting mostly on rats and blood biscuits, it managed to make its way to the top of the food chain and get stronger. Others did not fare so well and devolved into lesser forms.
Some rough animations for the naked cultist, eventually the frame rate will be lower and the lines will be cleaner. I'm testing this as a challenging elite enemy for the underground manor.

These have to be my tops, I didn't give it much thought and these were all just obvious choices. The Castlevania games I had on a double pack for GBA sp, inspired everything I do today. Honorable mentions: FTL, BOI, and Duck Game.

In game, for now a very limited lighted area.
More of this underground manor in #Crocotile3D
There are many sub basements and a bare wooden tower reaching to the surface. Once a shelter for lecherous meddling cowards, Eliza now finds herself below the bottom level.

Oh yes, huge inspiration of mine!
I have every available .png from spriters resource.
Nope it was always intended as a 2D project I just happened to be particularly dissatisfied with a covered bridge I tried to make, and found Crocotile3D. It's much faster to make good graphics this way!
My first post from 5mo ago, gonna add this flaming spiral back in soon... But 3D ;)
