More #pastel and #charcoal pencil #art play this morning, with this 14 x 21cm #Dartmoor scene the result of my efforts. It's okay, but I've not captured the details as well as I hoped, and didn't realise that the paper had such a textured surface which has given everything a mottled appearance...

When I was first drawn to making #art a couple of years ago it was by an urge to try out #pastels, but #watercolours soon took over. After restarting running and getting to 5km in January my February goal was to reach 10km... and I achieved that this morning with a loop over to Devonport Park. I've a little soreness in my MCL, but I'm taking it carefully and it seems to be okay.

Now to aim for 10 miles in March...

I'm not sure if this morning's subject is really a landmark, but here's #Somerset Landmarks 8 - #starling #murmuration at Ham Wall @rspb.bsky.social reserve. There must be >1000 starling dots in my picture but I'm not convinced even that's enough to fully capture the sight!

I just completed my first 5 mile run for 18 months - slow and steady does it - fitness is gradually coming back - I'm enjoying the creative thinking time...

Since the start of the year I have gradually been getting myself back into running, after tearing my left Medial Collateral Ligament back in August 2024. Today was my best run yet, and my first time over 4 miles for ~ 18 months, as I (hopefully) build to ultramarathon distance by early July...

I thought I'd have a go at upsizing my normal style, so I grabbed a thick #drawing pen, did a quick loose sketch and threw on the #watercolours with my largest brush. The result is this Italian waterfront scene. At about 20 x 25cm it's ~20x bigger area than my usual miniature pictures
