The Church at the Edge of Time the pastor is a woman / with small birds living in the hollows of her eyes.

Since this one’s got a lot of unexpected love the past month, here’s the poem I had the most fun writing last year:

It is March already. 😱 It is unseasonably warm out. 😱 My first short story collection comes out April 21. 😱😱

Rabbit Test and Other Stories contains all my favorite experiments in scifi and fantasy. I'm very proud of it. :)

What We Mean When We Talk About the Hole in the Bathroom - Uncanny Magazine After dinner, the woman and her husband argue about the hole in their bathroom. It’s not such a big hole. Two feet by two feet, the kind you might drop your garbage into every Thursday night and never...

β€œWhat We Mean When We Talk About the Hole in the Bathroomβ€œ is the first I’ve read by @angelaliu.bsky.social and it’s great.

An emotional tale of a couple growing apart, and the lingering effects of our parents into adulthood. And a strange hole.

Went to my 7-year-old’s class today for their poetry publishing party (the kids had just finished learning about rhyming + onomatopoeia) and my favorite line was from a poem called The Sun: β€œthe sand is hot and my feet go ahhh!”

It’s my first time having a poem translated!

My Hugo-nominated poem, β€œthere are no taxis for the dead” (from @uncannymagazine.bsky.social) is now available in Romanian in the new issue of Galaxia 42! Many thanks to Eliza Claudia Filimon for translating!

"Don't be so careful in time of death" is the motto I live by right now.

β€œDistance, like love, is a feeling you cannot measure until the end.”

This was an especially immersive read today as I read in a room that currently has a hole in the ceiling. Not sure I can look at it the same. πŸ‘€

Beautiful work Angela!!

You can listen to the story narrated in this month’s podcast too (by the fantastic @mrmightyink.bsky.social)!

I also got to talk a bit about THE hole in the bathroom and why I picked these characters to write about.

β€œSci-fi/horror Piranesi but written by Gene Wolfe” is about the best description I’ve got. Perhaps β€œsci-fi Gormenghast by Wolfe” is better, but I haven’t read Gormenghast.

Anyways, that’s my pitch, so if that’s your jam, go read it

I've been saying for a while, Wuxia's going to be a rising wave. Oh look, we've got about half a dozen shows coming soon. To brush up your Xia sense, here's some handy articles. In this one, I look at how the genre relates to similar ones in Western fantasy. 1/ #sff snowpavilion.co.uk/condor-heroes/
