Brilliant thread 🧵 here on #15MinuteCities and why campaigns for #SaferStreets are so important. The opposite end of the spectrum is prevalent in the US where cities have grocery store deserts, no easy access to healthcare and in some rural areas no access to an ambulance.

There's a lot of nonsense on social media about #15minutecities. Were the Romans in on the alt-right conspiracy when they built Chester? You can walk the walls, it's about 2 miles round, & you can hop off to see the sites, shop, go to the pub, gym, etc. It's wonderful!

When in London I stay in the Wandsworth Common area. It already seems like a perfect 15 minute city! I was once told that in England, every home must be within a 10 minute walk of a pub. There are three within 10 minutes of where I stay, and one of them is a microbrewery! #15minutecities

Kicking-off 2026, here's an early morning view across the Pont d'Iéna in #Paris. The bridge was temporarily closed to vehicles during the 2024 Olympics and is now being permanently pedestrianised as one of 500 new 'garden roads' across the city.
