Without the #1FinishAWeek group I didn't post all my completions individually. I have been switching more and more to the monthly recap which doesn't take long. Sometimes I'll do a weekly post about the games I'm playing. The last two games I beat I wanted to write about.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves
WII
Myriad of mini games that are as bizarre as they are entertaining. All of them are held together by even more bonkers story and outrageous characters. Creative bite-sized games make you want to repeat them over and over again.

I also have been watching more and trying to get back into reading. My game backlog is huge so it was fun doing the #1FinishAWeek challenge the past 4-5 years. That group also go me to discover games too. This year has been crazy so I haven't been posting much but now I'm trying again.

The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf
#GameFinishes 2025 - 8
SteamDeck
Rating - 6/10

If this didn't have so many smurfing issues with the Deck, I would have given it a 7. Water not rendering correctly, sometime it would pop in but most of time it was just black. The game was fun besides that.

I played MV2 on the phone back in 2021. I got both games when they were released on Steam but only played MV. MV 2 is a great game and one of the few games I use the touch screen on the Deck.

Another beautiful game by the team that made GRIS. Touching story, great music and fun puzzles. The combat was okay. I now want to replay GRIS.

Missed this one back in the day, but I'm glad finally decided to give it a try. Terrific setting and looks. Stealth is required for gameplay as you won't achieve much going guns blazing. Have to be patient. Great scenario and addictive gameplay.

Rating - 8.5/10

First time I did the post game boss in this series. You don't have to 100% everything to get all achievements. I still plan on going back to play some of the arcade/master system games.

Add another to my #1FinishAWeek, RemiLore Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore. I had a different vision of the game in mind heading into this, but still a good experience. Base game wasn't that long but there's lots of fun stuff for completionists. Enjoyable experience. #SwitchCorps

Yakuza 4 Remastered

Rating - Good

After Yakuza 3, I kept putting 4 off for years. I'm glad I finally got around to it. I liked the story, the combat was okay. It would have nice after Kiwami 2 if they did 3-5 but the new LaD:PYiH looks great!

This game makes me wish we got another DC Lego game from Traveller's Tales. The story had a lot of humor and the combat was fine. I'll be checking out some of the other games by PHL Collective.

After a very long game, I like to play some short games. This is my third time beating Donut County (previous times on PS & Xbox) and I'm sure in a few years I'll play it again.

First #1FinishAWeek for 2025 is here. I know, hella late. Super Mario RPG Remake was swell re-experience of one of the GOATs. Jam packed with nostalgia, all the additions, modifications, upgrades and animations made it feel like a whole new experience again. So fun! #SwitchCorps

In 2022 I started DQ I and played every mainline NA release in order (no DQ X ☹️). What a great way to end this journey. Looking forward to playing the HD-2D remakes this year.

Terrific continuation of the story that improves on the previous one in every aspect. There is a constant feeling of dread, and at no stage do you feel like you're safe. Great writing that takes the story to the next level.

Great adventure game on point and click style where you point your camera and click to get photos. It has a positive vibe and great art style, and looks cute overall. It's a great feel-good game that serves as a nice break from more serious titles.

Vanessa Schneider carved the path for games like Bayonetta and Stellar Blade. Essentially, a shooter with a dodge mechanic. The plot is superficial but gets more interesting towards the end. Gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but still some fun to be had.

Resistance Burning Skies
PSVita
FPS that serves as extension of PS3 franchise. Expands lore but not in a meaningful way. Good variety of weapons and great use of touch screen. Shooting feels good, and all is correct, but missing that special something to be great.

Millennium Soldier Expendable
DREAMCAST
Run and gun where story doesn't matter and enemies are plentiful. Variety of guns, pumpin music, and non stop action with flurry of bullets and explosions. Reminded me of Apocalypse or One on original PS

Short adventure game about exploring someone's memories. The gameplay is simplistic and straightforward, but you keep going as you want to see what happens next. Simple puzzles and some fun dialogues, and feel story overall. Nice little game.

Boing Docomodake
NDS
Nice little puzzle game where you control a mushroom(???) that can split in multiple versions of himself. Collect coins and traverse levels using your smarts and various techniques. It's pretty enjoyable and won't get you thinking too hard.

Classic, side scrolling beat 'em up for the first time on the home console. This game holds up today and offers everything you need from a fighting game. Amazing set of moves and flawless combat. This is the one to come back to every so often.

I've been wanting to go back to BoD VII so when this announced, I picked it up right away. The game looks great and plays just like you remember. For the price this is easy to recommend.

Story of diver working in an underwater facility for an oil company. Fun gameplay of exploration, crafting, collecting resources, and discovering the bottom of the sea both in a sub and diving suit. Really enjoyable experience and great story.

#1FinishAWeek 2024 #53: #AssassinsCreed India @xbox.com (~6hr)

India was a great game and super fast paced and challenging. I tried to beat the no-kill run but failed on the last level. I'll return later for the other achievements but am ready to move to Syndicate and it's transmedia.

Cobra Kai The Karate Kid Saga Continues
PS4
Beat'em up set in Cobra Kai universe. The plot serves as a pretext to combat hordes of enemies using different moves. Plus you get upgradeable characters, power ups, environmental damage, and decent fun from it all.
