This is on my list after listening to your presentation at #4C25!
Finally got my bluetooth keyboard replaced! (The last one died in the midst of my #4C25 livetweeting.) Now I am FULLY PREPARED for social media posting at #NCORE2025.
In case you missed it.... #USUPress books swept the #4C25 Book Awards! Congrats to Erin Clark,Darin Jensen and Brett Griffiths, and Todd Craig 🌟

Some more #4C25 #TeamRhetoric magic for those of us who missed it!
Sorry to have missed #4c25 and this vital #TeamRhetoric panel!
One of the best/funniest aspects of #4C25, realizing I was someone’s “uncle advisor” because her advisor studied under my adviser. Lol!
Glad to be home from #4C25. Spending some time reflecting on what I learned during the conference and doing some research to spark new interests!
I've had a bunch of people ask me for access to my #4C25 Chair's Address transcript, so after taking a bit of time to clean it up, I've made it available, here: docs.google.com/document/d/1... #teamrhetoric #rhetcomp #techcomm @ncte.org
Such an honor to be on a writing assessment panel with these amazing teachers and scholars #4C25
I’m proud of myself for avoiding most of the AI hype talk at #4C25. One talk snuck some in, but an audience member proposed artists do the suggested work instead.
A long blog post about the #4C25: It's my whole talk script with slides, and also some "thoughts" about the conference. The short version: I had a surprisingly good time, and it will be the last time I attend. Probably.

Chart showing the market share of top companies who have invested in AI technology (eg., Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Tesla, etc)
This slide in @jsanofranchini.bsky.social keynote at #4C25 is all anyone should need to decide to drop generative AI like a hot potato. Stop making billionaires richer and make that 💩 whither and die.
I had a glorious time at #4C25 learning things and seeing people and remembering the power that scholars and teachers of writing have. Hopefully we’ll be able to hang in Cleveland next year!
What a whirlwind of the last four days. Husband’s reelection kickoff fundraiser followed by driving to Baltimore to check in to #4C25, sessions Thursday and Friday, disco night dancing Friday night (!!), sessions Saturday, driving home, napping, heading back to Baltimore for a friend’s housewarming.
My cat is really channeling my same energy right now (coming back from #4C25 emotionally energized but very bleary-eyed, just staring at all my unread emails)
I feel that mix of sad and contemplative and thankful whenever I travel, whether leaving home or returning. I used to write a long recap blog post immediately after leaving a conference, often while sitting in the airport.
I don't blog anymore, but still: here's a recap thread about my #4c25.
Thank you for asking about this, Katie. I needed a bit to think on this and though I'm happy to have had it available during the Convention, I'd like to clean it up some before I make it available again. I've made it private for now. Hopefully it won't be too long before I re-post! #4C25
A birds-eye view of the entire baseball field at Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles took on the Toronto Blue Jays last night.
So long, Baltimore and #4C25! Sorry the best view of Camden Yards was wasted on me, who has almost no interest in sports, tho it was super cool to see the opening of last night’s game vs Toronto from my window!
I feel like we kinda crushed it yall! #4C25 b-skying unlocked. Boom. Amazing effort everyone!!!
Finally made it back to California after #4C25! Thank you EVERYONE, especially @jsanofranchini.bsky.social , @ncte.org , and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make it happen! I’m *cheering* all of you on!!!
Excellent idea for writing assignments gleaned from @writerethink.bsky.social at #4C25: Create a template Google Doc with tabs for various writing process steps. Include guidance right there in the doc...
on a more serious note, after seeing so many excellent presentations, I'm feeling energized and excited (other than end-of-conference fatigue) to engage with all the curriculum revision work that's about to be on my desk next year 😊 #wpalife coming soon #4C25
marisa & friend kailyn make dynamic goofy poses (marisa squatting with a determined face) behind the statue of a canon in baltimore's inner harbor
a group of academics, wearing conference nametags, arrange themselves to stand together for a group photo (marisa posted the candid rather than the formal result)
three pals stand with enthusiastic smiles in front of a replica of a historic ship
marisa stands in a conference room, smiling and ready to present. her presentation's title slide, "Remixing the Lab," is projected on a screen
should be 5Cs so we can include "crabs" #4C25 🦀
Collage with photos of my music and conference themed fingernails and the conference graphics of a vinyl record and letters. Graphics on the banner say 2025 CCCC Baltimore, April 9-12, 2025, Computer Love.
Had a great time at #4C25 ... first time doing a poster and fist time in Baltimore! In case we missed each other, here are my conference nails!
Holy crap ya’ll. We are shipping back ZERO books from #4C25.
Ok fine, I took 3 unsold books home with me, but still. Been on the conference circuit a decade & this is a first for me. Much love to my new book-loving fam #teamrhetoric. We at USUP will see you all next year in Cleveland! #4C26 #CCCC
Certificate that says Outstanding Teaching Award, honorable mention Charles C. Grimm
I'm still shocked that I got this award, but it made for an even better #4C25! I got invited to give a keynote at Teacher to Teacher this morning because of this award, and my speech seemed to go over better than I thought it might.
Whew. Drove back to Annapolis after a fantastic #4C25. My only gripe was that it went heavy on the AI, but I think enough of us anti-AI-in-the-field folks were there to offer alternatives and gentle pushback.
