In Which We Choose Chocolate over Color: #52Frames 2025 Week 29 -- Something New.
First time eating macrons, but was making sure I had chocolate in all of them rather than choosing an interesting color combination.

A striking black-and-white double-exposure photograph merges a contemplative male portrait with the organic texture of leafy plant branches. The man's face, centered in the frame, is captured in an introspective moment, his hand gently resting on his chin in a gesture of thought or self-reflection. His eyes pierce through the overlay of foliage with intensity, anchoring the viewer amidst the complex visual layering. The leaves and stems weave through his facial features, beard, and clothing, creating a poetic entanglement between human identity and the natural world. His hair and skin subtly dissolve into the leaves, blurring the line between flesh and flora, form and environment. The high-key white background enhances the surreal and dreamlike quality of the composition, suggesting themes of inner growth, connection to nature, and the quiet strength of contemplation. The dual imagery forms a delicate balance. Neither the portrait nor the botanical elements overpower the other, instead working in visual harmony to evoke a sense of rooted thought, vulnerability, and meditative presence.

@52frames - Something New / "Chesapeake Bay Crabbing" - Crabbing is not new, but many of our traps were... and I edited the shot with 'ON1 Photo Raw', which is new to me. #52frames #52frames_somethingnew #52frames_phonephotographers #52frames_photographers #Crabs #ChesapeakeBay #crabbing
Trying some birding for #52Frames_somethingnew. It was tough just getting this. I'll keep trying, but man birds move way too quick for me.

This week’s 52 Frames challenge was to do something “new. My 'new' was a Nikkor 55-200mm lens, set the zoom to 200mm, attached a polarizing filter and then attached 3.5X telephoto lens adapter since I did not have a 72mm polarizing filter. And used a rather slow shutter speed. #52Frames_somethingnew

The theme for the 52 Frames Photo Challenge this week is “something new” - which can be interpreted in many ways. Macro photography is a new genre for me, and I was excited to use a new-to-me macro lens today. Cicada exoskeletons were great subjects! #52Frames_somethingnew #photography #macro #nikon
Diners enjoying their meal inside a restaurant, shot from table-level. An exposed brick wall is visible to the right, and a large picture window to the left. The building across the street is visible through the window.
Wall decor that appears to be made from tailor's mannequin parts and plants mounted on a painted brick wall.
A couple of photos from this evening. I thought the wall decor in this restaurant was cool. Touche French Creole in Aurora, IL.
