Finished my most complex breadboard project yet! a logic-driven LED panel with switches to toggle each LED on/off, a button to switch red/green, and a master flash control tied to a 555. All working solid or blinking on demand!
This took a lot of work. Very happy

Button switches the 4 bi-color LEDs between red and green. A toggle switch enables or disables the 555 blink signal. Next is to wire the 555 to blink the 4 LEDs. It’s looking good so far. 🥳

Next up: trying to use my NOR-built AND gate to control the 555. Idea is, if I pull the signal high, the LEDs blink. If it’s low, they stay on. Hoping this lets me switch between flashing and steady with one input.

Had a few goofs, but the 555 timer is now cleanly toggling between LEDs without heating up! Turns out I had my NPN transistor backwards at first.
Pro tip: the arrow should point to ground!

Finally got my 555 timer circuit blinking cleanly. 1000µF cap + 10nF on pin 5 did the trick. Slow, satisfying LED flashes from pure hardware. 3.3V
