Ultimately… we are not in the business of robot training. Following steps is what robots can do, how do we help students to be decision makers who critically analyze the world around them?
"Critical thinking is the ability to question, analyze, and solve problems in innovative ways. It’s not about memorizing answers or following predetermined steps—it’s about teaching students to evaluate information, draw connections, and create solutions for complex challenges.
Let’s help students ask:
Why is this important?
What’s the best approach?
How does this connect to the real world?"
AI can crunch data, but it can’t think critically about the world we live in. That’s why students need teachers to guide them beyond the obvious, to explore the why and how.
How much figure it out is there? If students are following steps it is low critical thinking and possibly something that can be automated or done through Generative AI. How do we help students to analyze and revise?
