Great news.
The preliminary map that saw an un-gerrymandered #AL02 flip from red-to-blue in 2024 will likely become permanent until the next decade.
The court says it will hold remedial proceedings regarding a new map, though it may simply keep in place the map used last year, which was drawn by a court-appointed expert.
That would make sense, since Black voters were able to elect their preferred candidate in #AL02 in 2024, Dem Shomari Figures.
They just redistricted my area of #AL02, and we elected @repscfigures.bsky.social to be our representative. So so so much better than the lying shitweasel we had before, who now unfortunately represents #AL01.
