Dr. Hyer is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children with clinical interests in arthrogryposis, gait improvement, and limb deficiency.

🕊️ With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear friend, Ward Foley. Known to many as Scarman, Ward brought laughter, love, and light into every room. Through his raw honesty, deep compassion, and unwavering faith, he touched the lives of countless AMC families and beyond. He reminded us that life isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection. Whether he was telling stories, sharing wisdom, or making us laugh through tears, Ward always spoke from the heart. His faith was bold, his humor unforgettable, and his love for others unmatched. He taught us that asking for help is strength, that pain can be shared, and that what matters most in life is how we love. “We are not given a good life or a bad life. We are given a life.
