Ausschnitt aus dem Comic "maschinenlesbar". Text: Digitale Bilder brauchen Beschreibungen damit ihr Inhalt von Screenreadern ausgelesen werden kann. Abbildung: Eine Person mit Vollbart und Glatze fotografiert eine Poster an einem Baum. Daneben das Bild eines Comicpanel mit weissen Häschen in einer Socialmedia App und ein Flussdiagramm aus Icons: Ein Icon für Bild, Berge und Sonne, steht neben dem Icon für Text, fünf Linien untereinander. Dazwischen das Wort versus. Vom Bild Icon zeigt ein direkter Pfeil zum Icon für Auge. Vom Icon für Text geht ein Pfeil zum Icon für Screenreader-Software, das wie eine Computer Platine aussieht mit der Bezeichnung daneben. Von hier gibt es zwei weiterführende Pfeile. Einer geht erst zu einem Icon für akustisch, ein Lautsprecher, und dann zum Icon fürs Hören, ein Ohr. Der zweite geht zu einem Icon für Braille, drei Buchstaben in Punktschrift, p, q und r, und dann weiter zum Icon haptisch, zwei Finger nebeneinander.

Hey folks, a reminder to add ALT text to your images for vision impaired, and to use upper & lower case in hashtags so screen readers can better parse the text.

Instead of #votenoon1, for example, use #VoteNOon1 or #VoteNoOn1. See the difference?

How to add alt text to images on Bluesky (and why you should) Alt text is far more important than you might think, and Bluesky makes it fairly easy for you to add it to images you post.
