Can confirm. Damron’s WAS gay travel before internets and cell phones and gay friendly libraries. IMO it helped create some of the gay travel meccas we think of today—there was something friendly about them way way way back in the day and we just keep coming back. Then we move there. #altPride

Mayor Koch gave Earle the key to the city, but Earle continued his criticism of the city’s AIDS response. In 1987 anyone who was HIV+ had a timetable for their own death. Some of us lost dozens of friends. Earle lost hundreds.
