Repurposed book, pages are glued and carved and reformed into a diorama or shadow box sculpture. This photo is of the cover, it is painted light green, with the heart sutra written in Japanese collaged on the front along with a little shrine like space with a shelf of sacred objects, a red hanging lantern made of pages from the book, with the word dream in Japanese kanji on it, and a small roof overhang above it, also made from pages from the book.
Repurposed book, pages are glued and carved and reformed into a diorama or shadow box sculpture. This photo is of the inside of the book. The pages have been rolled back and painted light green to form columns which are collaged with more of the heart sutra in Japanese script. There is a shelf inside a carved out niche with a Totoro figurine seated in it.
As an artist I take old books destined for the landfill and repurpose them into art.
This one was inspired by and a dedication to the two years I lived in #Japan.

Art project resembling an Ouija board. Made from an old book reused from the trash lord up flat like a board. In. Towns and blacks. The letters in the middle of the ouija board are all scrambled around though and unreadable. The style of the planchette is slightly steampunk like.
