The #Arweave, #Ardrive and #AOComputer environments might be interesting as part of an alternative: they're decentralized and cheap, even if they're still very young.

You pay using the Ar cryptocurrency, which can be bought, among other ways, by using #everpay and the #MetaMask and #Arconnect wallets to exchange Ethereum for Ar.

If you want to protect new data, have a look into #Ardrive, organized on #Arweave. It promises immutable, eternal decentralized storage for a low one-time cost.

I'm using it to backup my POV-Ray scene definition files, and it does keep them!
