I’ve got more stars pinned and I’m deciding on which color(s) I want to use. I’m only procrastinating a *little* bit on construction.

I just came here to brag that I have first drafts done of all my art grant essays and I’ve collected all of my collateral for it as well.

DIY Marker Storage from Dollar Tree 🖍️✨💵

I was in Dollar Tree yesterday and noticed these Magnetic Dryer Sheet Holders and grabbed 12. Took ten minutes to make and under $15! This would work for any art supplies!

Can’t stick to just one project at a time? Same here!

My solution: I turned some old plastic cases into a DIY wet palette! It keeps my paints from drying out between sessions. Sometimes the best tools are the ones you already have.

Two ink and marker sketches of Count Orlok from Nosferatu. One from the original movie and one played by Bill Skarsgård in the 2024 version

If you mess up when inking a character you can try to cover up mistakes with an item of clothing or something else that tickles your fancy. I’ll give you a few guesses what kind of wardrobe change I had to make here #lifehack #artisthack #sketchbook

It’s photography day! 🎉🙃📸
Taking good pics of my work is part of the whole process and while I don’t love it, I’ve learned to appreciate it as a means for galleries and museums to see it and potentially take it on.

I’m always dunking something in a tea bath. It is one of my oldest tricks.

My desk with work spread all over it. Pens and markers and art in progress. My holly and ivy Christmas plate and a balled up Christmas napkin where I ate my leftover homemade pizza and my Diet Coke in a festive glass.

Workspace: Holiday Edition. You can tell it’s festive by the holiday plate and glassware 😂🎄🍕

I got my ducks in a row early this week so my blog post for tomorrow has been ready for a few days! If only I would learn from this moment and start the next blog post now. Reader, I will not. #ThinkingAboutMaking #MakingThings #ArtistHack #InHerStudio #ArtBlog #ArtBlogger

Up late last night & I was insanely tired today. When I went to work on art there was zero resistance to getting started. I just zoned out & enjoyed it. It’s not a lifestyle I want to choose but since it happened it’s interesting to note. #ThinkingAboutMaking #MakingThings #ArtistHack #InHerStudio

I’ve put all my open art call deadlines on my calendar in RED. Here’s hoping that helps offload the brain strain of trying to hold them all in my head. #WhatItsLikeToBeAnArtist #ThinkingAboutMaking #MakingThings #ArtistHack #InHerStudio

If you aren’t using the Goodnotes app for your crochet pattern markup while you are working, I’m here to tell you it’s life changing.

My latest art hack is that I keep a list of words and phrases that I like and/or feels “right” in my notes app so I have something to pull from when I need to title my art work. Follow me for more hacks. 😂

Turns out that working in a kindergarten is an amazing way to practice drawing Digimon.
The kids love the digimon colouring sheets I make them. I just ask a kid: "Cute, cool or silly?" Then I find a digimon I think they'll like, and draw them a colouring page.

A stone paper spiral bound sketchbook, with a piece of mint yarn threaded between the two ends of each loop.

I like to fasten my string to the 'bottom' edge, and place the string theough each od the narrow loops by slotting it between the two sides, pulling it through, and then up through the larger loops at the back of the paper.

Also, you can leave the steing long, and you get a bookmark.

I really hope all the weird kids that carry around spiral notebooks and sketchbooks still know that if you loop string along the spirals between the last page, it keeps the wires from hooking on stuff. Also you can snip the middle part out for comfort (lefties/artists rejoice) #artisthack
