It was great to attend Anne L'Huillier's talk at Imperial yesterday and see so many people doing #Attoscience in London. We had a quick chat & tea after the talk.

Quantum Battles

A colleague called my attention today to the fact that the #QuantumBattles YouTube channel may be the only existing free database for #attoscience videos. I feel proud but sad that there aren't more.

Hello new followers (and welcome!). Here I showcase the work done in my group (I am an #attoscience prof), opinions beyond science, and also discuss stuff with strangers (sometimes). I am a self-confessed crazy cat lady, and come from the Amazon, where blue morphos are native.

How the science of tiny timescales could speed up computers and improve solar cell technology Attosecond science allows the extremely fast movements of electron particles to be observed. This emerging field brings both opportunity and controversy.

The article about #attoscience in The Conversation took a while, but here it is.

Busy day at the CFEL-ATTO lab. Part of the team is working on the efficient generation of soft-x ray attosecond pulses! 👀🧑‍⚕️👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️💪

We use a special glass chip produced in collaboration with CNR-IFN in Milan to improve the process! 🎆

LLE Talks: Attosecond interferometry
LLE Talks: Attosecond interferometry The Laserlab-Europe Talk “Attosecond interferometry" by Nirit Dudovich (Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel) was held on 26 June 2024. High harmonic generation (HHG) spectroscopy has been successfully applied over the past two decades to resolve fundamental strong-field phenomena in atoms, molecules and solids. An important aspect of HHG spectroscopy lies in its coherent nature. The strong-field interaction directly transfers the coherence of the laser field into the coherent properties of the electronic wavefunction that interacts with the field, and back into the optical properties of the emitted harmonics. Resolving the internal coherence is key to reconstructing the internal dynamics, being one of the primary challenges in HHG spectroscopy. As in many other branches of physics, the presence of coherence is determined through interferometry. In this talk, I will describe advanced schemes for attosecond interferometry. The application of these schemes provides direct insights into a range of fundamental phenomena in nature – from field induced tunneling [1] in atomic systems to subcycle dynamics in condense matter systems [2-4]. #science #attoscience #attosecond #interferometry #hhg #highharmonicgeneration #spectroscopy #laser References [1] O.
