One-win boxer weighs in wearing tiniest g-string, loses again
Australian welterweight prospect Lance McDonald made headlines at the weigh-in for his clash with Matthew Hosking, but not for his performance inside the ropes.
The mulletted Queenslander left little to the imagination as he hit the scales in nothing but a tiny g-string thong, glaring at the cameras before smoldering off-stage. His bold fashion choice instantly set social media buzzing, with clips of the unusual weigh-in attire circulating widely among boxing fans.

McDonald never explained the move, even when Nikita Tszyu filmed scenes backstage for Main Event TV’s broadcast. He seemed unflappable in the face of the attention.
Unfortunately for the Brisbane fighter, the momentum didn’t carry over into fight night, as he dropped a unanimous decision to Hosking in their four-round welterweight contest at the Pat Rafter Arena in Tennyson. The bout took place on the Liam Paro vs David Papot undercard.
McDonald, who turned pro in 2024, now sits on a record of 1-2-1 (1 KO). Hosking, meanwhile, improves to 3-0, continuing his rise on the local scene.
Despite his colorful personality and willingness to entertain, McDonald is still seeking consistency between the ropes. His record shows one stoppage win alongside two defeats and a draw since debuting in Loganholme last year.
