“Smoketember” is here in Vancouver & the Lower Mainland: A combo of smoke & an unusually moist Sep airmass making for murky (sometimes very unhealthy) conditions.
Things look to clear out smoke-wise this wknd as high pressure moves E.

Beautiful British Columbia’s Vancouver looking the part this BC Day Monday!
The last measurable rainfall in the city on 9 July. Month-long stretches of no rain during the summer months not unusual despite our wet autumns & winters.

BC Wildfire Service Update - 13 July 2025 Sunday evening firefighting personnel, heavy equipment and aerial resources are actioning this wildfire. Earlier today, the fire was displaying Rank 2-3 behaviour, meaning a low vigour surface fire with a slow to moderate rate of spread. This evening crews are reporting elevated fire behaviour with Rank 5 in some areas, meaning an extremely vigorous surface fire. Smoke is highly visible from surrounding areas and to motorists travelling along Highway 3.
BC Wildfire Service fire behaviour ranking
Not a good situation this eve at the #PlacerCreekWildfire near Princeton BC as the #wildfire exhibits Rank 5 out of 6 fire behaviour with an extremely vigorous surface fire in some areas.
Hopefully slightly cooler wx Mon helps.
